Job Title: IT Technician (Part-Time)
As part of our expansion we are looking for an IT Technicians to join our team, based in Brighton. We are looking for a self-motivated part-time IT Technician (3 or 4 days per week). Candidates must be enthusiastic, passionate about computers, have a flexible approach, able to work independently, and have their own car.
Your role will be to provide on-site B2B IT support to customers. It is expected that you will spend the majority of your time on-site or travelling to our clients offices primarily across the South East, travelling to Maidstone, Essex, Milton Keynes etc.
We need someone who has:
2-3 years experience in an IT support role
Experience of dealing with users face to face and over the telephone
Experience in networking computers:
- check the network backup logs
- set up, maintain and remove user network accounts
- carry out routine network maintenance tasks
- be familiar with the network infrastructure (cable and patch panels, hubs, switches, routers etc) and keep a log of any damage
- follow suppliers recommended procedures
Technical Competencies:
Knowledge of all of these environments would be highly advantageous. Candidates who do not have experience will be expected to pick up skills in this area quickly, since they may encounter PCs running these operating systems.
Windows Server 2008 / Small Business Server 2008 desirable but not essential
Windows 2003/Small Business Server 2003/Windows 2000/Windows XP/ Vista/ Networks/ Backups desirable but not essential
A comprehensive knowledge is required, including how to perform all common administration tasks, and troubleshoot issues. Windows ME/Windows 98/Windows 95/Windows 3.11/Windows NT 4.0/DOS
Microsoft Exchange 2000/Microsoft Exchange 2003 - Experience of using and administrating Microsoft Exchange 2000 and/or 2003, creating and removing user accounts would be highly advantageous.
Microsoft Office - The candidate must have full knowledge and familiar with the full range of Microsoft Office tools.
Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver basic XHTML and CSS is desirable and would be an advantage.
UNIX - is advantageous, but not essential.
MAC O/S desirable but not essential.
