Web Designer

My client is looking to recruit an experienced web designer to join their established team of developers. The successful candidate will be a confident, articulate design professional who can demonstrate excellent creative and technical skills, with experience of working in an agency environment. In return, they will offer a unique opportunity to join a well-established agency and be an integral part of the future design direction with technically challenging work across a wide variety of clients and requirements.

You will play an integral part of the team working as a Web Designer, with your standard role activities including the design and execution of web interfaces and integrating with the back end developers on a daily basis.


Required experience
Impressive design portfolio
Proven website design experience

Excellent Photoshop skills to include either ImageReady or Fireworks for rendering

Vector artwork with Freehand or Illustrator

Front-end coding in HTML/CSS

Understanding of requirements for web accessibility and design of interfaces compliant with WCAG standards

Good communication with superb attention to detail and a flexible approach

Confident at presenting ideas and concepts internally and externally

Strong understanding of a projects life cycle from conception to deployment (essential)

Accurate estimation of timescales and adherence to timelines





Desirable Skills and Experience

Design for print

Experience of briefing commercial printers for accurate execution of designs

Adobe InDesign, Quark or another recognised print/layout application.

Flash for animation, Flash for interfaces, Actionscript



Portfolio

An excellent candidate will have a portfolio which includes:


Highly professional designs developed within and in response to an established commercial or high street brand

Confident and creative concepts developed against loose briefs and which deliver magic and originality

Strong use of typography, colour schemas, artwork and image treatments which deliver consistent and polished solutions

Wire frames or screen designs demonstrating the successful planning of screen flows and navigation for task sequences such as online shopping or web-based content management
