At Saturday Soccer School we provide a unique football coaching opportunity for children aged 4-11. Starting with our fun-filled 1-hour beginner’s sessions for 4 and 5 year-olds and progressing through the early stages of football development until children move off to secondary school with a fantastic knowledge and love of the game. As children get older and improve they can progress through our group system at their own pace. With 12 different groups all taught by our FA qualified and experienced coaches, kids can feel confident and comfortable playing with children of a similar ability and move up when they want a tougher challenge.

At Saturday Soccer School we recognise that every child is different and when it comes to sport they will develop at different times. The beauty of our system is that a child’s development does not need to be constrained to their age group as dictated by joining a Sunday league team. As a result of this we find that children that might otherwise be left out of teams or find themselves rapidly losing their confidence on a subs bench (thus never improving because they are not playing) can develop at their own speed whilst maintaining their confidence and getting the maximum amount of time with the ball at their feet.

Team Football

The school welcomes children whether they are already involved with a team or not. For those who already play on Sundays, we can offer additional coaching that is rarely received within the constraints of a traditional Sunday team setup.
For those who wish to join a team, thanks to our partnership with a well known local junior football club we are able to set up an Under 9s Sunday team each year with discounted playing costs exclusively for our members. (This means that the option of team football is available to children once they have progressed through our school and have reached the under 9 age group.)
Those that do not wish to join a team will still the get the high standard of coaching and can experience the fun of match football within the school on Saturday mornings thanks to inter-team tournaments and the time set aside for match play during our sessions.


The Site: Varndean College

Saturday Soccer School takes place at Varndean College, Surrenden Rd, Brighton. The School has exclusive use of the large, well maintained and flat football pitches. We have use of the college changing rooms and toilet facilities as well as access to a limited amount of indoor space ensuring that in worst case weather scenarios our football lessons can still take place. There is plenty of onsite parking and Tea, Coffee and refreshments are also available.

Our Philosophy

We believe that Football for children should always be an experience that is fun, creative, engaging and confidence building. An experience that will teach a child the benefits of healthy living and physical activity and allow them to take a passion and love of the game into their teenage years and eventually into adulthood.
