Legal Clerk
Our client, a medium size legal practice based in Brighton, has a vacancy for a Legal Clerk in their conveyancing department.
Key attributes sought are:
- ambitious, enthusiastic
- able to provide an outstanding level of service to clients
- a hardworking team member
Duties and responsibilities include:
- dealing with non-standard conveyancing matters (eg new-build, probate, non-registered land)
- dealing with standard residential conveyancing from initial instruction through to completion
- dealing with title checking
- dealing with transfers of equity and remortgage matters
- liaising with Estate Agents
- organising local searches
- processing and producing Home Information Packs (HIPS)
- ensuring searches are up to date, documents signed, transfers approved and replies to requisitions on title received
- checking reports on titles are completed and mortgage conditions satisfied
- drafting completion statements
- ensuring funds are received, redemption figures settled and monies transferred
Skills required include:
- communication skills
- computer literate
Basic salary £21,000 pa.
