The Sussex Beacon is a national centre providing care and support for men and women living with HIV and is one of only two centers in the UK providing such services. We currently have a vacancy for a full time client support worker. Responsible for providing physical, social and psychological support to clients on the Residential Unit; providing support to the Registered Nurses on night duty in relation to checking the administration of controlled drugs, emergency intervention and all aspects of client care and to participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for clients on the Residential Unit, in conjunction with the Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ level 2+ in health and social care, or ability and commitment to obtain this; excellent communication skill and organisational ability are essential as is a willingness to engage in self development, supervision and educational opportunities. The ability to take initiative in both familiar and unexpected situations is also a key requirement. Specialist HIV/mental health experience an advantage.
