The permanent position job description is:
1) Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis, executive summaries, cashflow and revenue forecasts. Production of monthly profit & loss financial statements for 20 internal cost centres and consolidation to board reports.
2) Work with the Finance & Admin Manager to lead and motivate and train the finance team to achieve targets and deadlines.
3) Prepare and complete all month end journals, balance sheet inputs and reconciliations on a monthly basis, including accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations and fixed assets to a standard suitable for external audit. compliance.
4) Prepare and complete quarterly vat return.
5) Assist the Head of Finance with future financial planning including budgeting, financial forecasts and information for new business opportunities.
6)Maintain and review current procedures and processes within the team and business, introducing improvements and streamlining current ways of working.
7)Provide pro-active support and build relationships with non finance budget holders.
8) Attend monthly operational accounts meetings and respond to individual questions regarding site and area accounts.
Key Skills:
Strong reconciliations skills
Recent VAT experience, preferably within a charity
Hold or studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
