Volunteers & Runners Wanted for Brighton Marathon supporting Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Guide Dogs for the Blind are the main sponsors of the first ever Brighton Marathon which will be held on April 18th 2009. Be part of history as either a runner or volunteer on the big day.
We are looking for volunteers to help out on the day (and maybe at future events if you enjoy it - which you will!). Duties will include: Cheering on the runners, passing out water at selected points, helping at different venues and collecting funds for this exceptional cause.
Although public entry for racing is now closed, there are a number of places still available for anyone who wishes to run for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Because Guide Dogs is one of the three designated charities we have a limited number of places for runners. The application page is available here:
http://www.guidedogs.org.uk/helpus/events/events-forms/brighton-marathon-application-form/
All runners and volunteers will receive free t-shirts, a special thank you event after the run and a warm glow for having done such a superb job!
Guide Dogs has its own site, but one of the most powerful things I've seen is this set of slides about the work that it does: http://www.guidedogs.org.uk/shout/index.html
If you need any further information or to volunteer please contact me.
Thank you
