Bbc Blast in Brighton
Thursday 5 – Saturday 7 November.
Jubilee Square, Brighton, Sussex, BN1 1GE.
FREE multi-media workshops and showcase events for teenagers. Participants can use the latest technology, share ideas and creative skills and learn from media-industry professionals in the mobile creative village.
There will be a wide range of multi media and creative arts workshops on offer, highlights include:
· Hip Hop Music Production with leading industry professional, Baby J who has worked with Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson and Skinnyman and was recently voted ‘The UK’s best underground producer’ at the Urban Music awards.
· DJing with JFB Scratch - meet the UK’s number one scratch DJ demonstrating his turntable trickery.
· Blast Portrait Competition - design an album cover with help from Kwame Lestrade - professional Photoshop expert, portrait and fashion photographer.
· Radio - produce a live show with BBC Sussex music producer, Phil Jackson or report the news alongside BBC Sussex Broadcast Journalist Simon Jenkins.
· Film Making - Expert Brighton filmmaker Tim Day from Snowstorm Media will lead you through camera and editing skills to produce your own film in a day.
A selection of films, music, poetry, dance and radio pieces created here will be shown to the public at the Blast Talent Showcase on Saturday 7th November at 5pm.
