Piling Design Engineer / Senior Engineer £30,000 - £50,000 depending on experience, West Sussex

An industry leading Piling Design / Foundation company is looking to add to their highly successful team with the addition of an Engineer or Senior Engineer into their plush West Sussex offices.

A team of 8, my client is a foundations solutions company that has an excellent reputation for innovation, quality and performance. They have a proud history of offering a wide portfolio of specialist services and solutions from the design, fabrication and installation of foundation solutions for major construction projects through to log cabins.

They offer their services throughout the UK, Asia and the Middle East and they operate within the construction, rail, highways, rail, communications and housing markets.

Thier expertise Includes:

Piling / Foundation design
Geotechnical / Foundation Engineering
Structural Piling Design

Reporting to the Technical Director your role will include:

- Project Management
- Creating and executing project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirement
- Managing day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope
- Reviewing and agreeing deliverables prepared by UK office before passing to client
- Effectively applying company methodology and enforcing project standards
- Preparing and reviewing quality assurance procedures
- Ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Financial Management
- Understanding basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and making decisions accordingly
- Understanding the company pricing model and billing procedures
- Managing commercial and engineering issues to minimise costs through effective management of resources
- Business Development
- Identifying business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project
- Effectively convey the companies message/views in both written and verbal business development discussions
- Actively manage existing client relationships
- Facilitate team and client meetings effectively
- Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors via regular meetings
- Ability to present difficult technical problems in away that all can understand
- Communication of problems and solutions effectively to all parties
- Deliver engaging, informative, well-organised presentations
- Resolve and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion

Technical Qualifications / Experience Required

- Chartered or near chartered Engineer with either Institute of Structural Engineers or Civil Engineers
- Piling Design Experience
- Sound technical understanding of structural design in concrete, steel, masonry and timber
- Sound technical understanding of geotechnical issues and their effects on structures        
- Design experience in highway and rail environments
- Ability to use Oasys software GSA Analysis, Alp, Pdisp (Vdisp), StaadPro or related software.
- Computer Aided Design (eg print drawings, obtain dimensions)
- Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft PowerPoint
