Hi there.....

I'm writing a screenplay in which a young lad of about 12 is injured in an explosion. Idealy he'll need to have an operation and be in and out of a coma ( or at least be 'touch and go' for a short while). Then after about three weeks he 'll be largely recovered and allowed home but with medical support (?)

Problem is I know nothing about this type of thing ( thank heavens) and need to know what sort of injury he would likely have received that would fit the above.
