Heroes Wanted (weekly fun)
Hello!
So you think you could be a hero huh? Great
Passingiton, Brighton's Hero-powered charity, is looking for volunteers to help generally throughout the year and at events across a spectrum of activities.
To kick start our volunteers programme for 2009-2010 we'll be meeting on WED 24 SEPT, 7.30PM UPSTAIRS at the EARTH AND STARS where we'll meet EVERY WEEK after that too! We'll give you a brief introduction to what Passingiton is all about, you can ask as many questions as you like, and then we'll just hang around and maybe have a drink or two.
There's no pressure to get involved in any particular effort, if you just want to come and find out what we're about you're very welcome. Everyone is tres friendly and we'd be grateful to whoever turns up.
There's lots to be done but it's also a great opportunity to have a lot of fun with some really great people. While volunteers won't be paid there are benefits including a regular prize for the best volunteer :)
A bit of background:
Passingiton is based in Brighton but makes money for school projects in Africa. Founded by Matt and James, we are known for hosting the Heroes run where people dress up as Superheroes, run a bit and have a lot of fun raising money in the process. We are still an intimate charity but have managed to raise over £120,000 to help underprivileged kids have a better life. We're looking to do even better! Our first project was Tenderfoot school and orphanage in Nairobi. We are now working on commitments in Ghana and Gambia too and so we need support to help us make them a reality.
It would be great to see you on Wed 24th September at the Earth and Stars (7.30 pm) - Hope you can make it!
(If you're unable to attend on the 24th but would like to get involved, you can contact James at passingitonline@gmail.com or call Niki on 07734261359
