Data Tools Programmer
As a member of the Shared Game Systems Team you will be working on the shared game and tool code that is used on all our game projects. You will be expected to produce stable, well documented, efficient and maintainable code and give good estimates on the time required to complete your work. You should have a passion for the games you help make, and a good knowledge of the games made by other companies.
Ideal candidates should have:
• Strong C++ software engineering skills are essential
• DBA and SQL schema design experience strongly preferred
• C# development experience preferred
• Ideally at least 2 years professional programming experience
• Must be self motivating, intelligent and enthusiastic with good communication skills
Key responsibilities will include:
• Help plan and implement data formats, tools, pipelines, and runtime code. Estimate the timescales involved and work within those timescales. Maintain a list of future required and wanted changes.
• Own the SQL schema of our databases and provide processes to ensure that the data within is secure and robust. Ensure that data is backed up correctly and never lost or damaged.
• Produce and maintain clean, efficient, stable and well commented code and systems.
• Produce and maintain documentation where appropriate. Support users of your code and other departments.
• Take responsibility for your own training and development. Know the platforms and SDKs you use and keep up to date with their development.
• Work well with the people at Relentless and external partners. Show initiative. Adhere to Relentless working practices.
An advantage would be:
• Knowledge of other languages such as Lua, Perl, Python, Ruby and Java
• Experience in the games industry, with a shipped title preferred
