Senior Support Worker
Our Client runs Residential Care Homes for Learning Disabilities in the South East. There philosophy of care based on the principle of “supporting independence” by helping clients achieve their full potential whatever their level of ability. To work in accordance with our Clients philosophy of care and its Policies and Procedures.
They are looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker with a minimum of 1 year’s current knowledge as a Senior Support Worker in a Learning Disabilities Home or similar environment. Essential qualification NVQ3, the location of the home is Oxted, Surrey.
The Senior Support Worker role is to lead and support the team in the running of the home, enable the residents to lead a valued and fulfilling life and to maximise the potential capacity of all residents, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. Assist in the day-to-day running of the house and in all matters regarding the residents’ daily lives, work as a part of a staff team in a constructive and supportive manner and attend regular staff meetings. Supervise the work of support workers and bank staff, ensuring that all duties are carried out in such a way as to maintain high care and support standards at all times, work within a flexible rota system adapted to meet the need of individuals living in the home. Hold formal supervision with support workers, after completing the relevant internal supervision course, be ‘on-call’ by arrangement.
Advise, guide, support and assist residents on all matters relating to their welfare and health and safety in conjunction with other staff, professional health care staff and agencies. Support residents in making choices in such a way as to ensure that they have a healthy, culturally appropriate and nutritious diet and to assist them with food preparation. To assist in ensuring all residents are supported in every way and on the annual holiday. Organise and administer medication and to maintain all associated records. Salary £17,000 - Full-Time, 20 days holiday annually.
