An HVDC Consultant is required for the consultancies main substations project team. They will act as the companies technical focus on all matters and projects relating to HVDC projects. The HVDC consultant will be expected to provide technical expertise into bids and proposals and to represent the company in client meetings as appropriate. As well as working on HVDC work the successful candidate will also be utilised in the main substations project team as dictated by work load.

Actual work load will be dictated by the business but will consist of :-
1) Design Assurance
2) Design Review
3) Due Diligence
4) Feasibility Studies
5) Technical expert services
6) Some original design may also be involved. Candidate Specification The successful candidate will be a professionally qualified engineer with a high level qualification in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline. Ideally the candidate will have attained chartered status. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a significant track record in High Voltage AC and DC engineering gained in a consultancy, utility or specialist contracting environment. Ideally candidates will have also gained experience on international projects.

Exposure to power electronics, HVDC and HVDClite would be ideal preferably with cables or OHL transmission experience.
