They are currently looking to recruit an experienced candidate with the following skills:
- National Grid TP141 qualification.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Educated to degree / HND level.
- Extensive Protection and Control experience in an Electrical Engineering role.
- A good working knowledge of HV equipment would be advantageous.

The candidate will be expected to achieve :
- A design authorisation from UK's National Grid.
- Successful completion of a BESC.
- Authorisation as a person under UK electrical utilities safety rules, as requested. Candidate Specification The office based Protection and Control (P&C) section provides expertise in all aspects of Power Systems protection, including automatic systems for restoring load and works both on stand alone assignments, as well as part of multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate should be experienced in the design and application of protection to HV transmission systems, distribution networks and power stations, as well as being able to undertake fault level calculations and protection settings for complex power systems and participate in factory acceptance tests.

In addition to this, the successful candidate will also possess knowledge of relay designs and have experience of UK practices as well as experience of working on international projects.

Job role to include :
- Contribution to feasibility studies for transmission.
- Production of tender specification for Protection and Control (P&C).
- Production of detailed design drawings for Protection and Control schemes.
- Checking of detailed design drawings.
- Carrying out fault studies for Transmission projects and calculating protection settings using these results.
- Checking of fault studies and protection setting results.
- Configuration of relays.
- Giving advice on commissioning stage of projects and undertaking the checking of commissioning documentation.
