Sen Teaching Assistant
Our client is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school based in the East Sussex. The school are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant with experience and expertise in supporting children with severe and profound learning difficulties. Many of the children have Autistic Spectrum disorders and so experience working with children with Autism is essential. The school in East Sussex has approximately 100 children, ages 4-19 years of age.
The school have a clear vision to create a centre of excellence in special education that provides a first class, age-appropriate curriculum that focuses on individual needs, strengths and abilities. The school aim to continually revisit and debate the concept of education for pupils with severe and complex disabilities, maintaining a focus on innovative and creative approaches to the curriculum, allowing pupils to make their own choices, be ambitious and learn from each other
The school aims to achieve their vision by constantly thinking about the bigger picture, working as one team, valuing all staff and their continual development and by frequently reviewing, debating and developing the curriculum. The successful candidate will be an integral part of realising this vision and will work in a supported environment where their own personal development is equally important in achieving the schools goals.
Additionally the school has excellent facilities, including hydrotherapy pools, a sunken trampoline sports hall and state of the art sensory rooms.
