I’m thinking about starting an informal social group for stammers in Brighton and the surrounding area. I’m 22 and, while I don’t really feel that having a stammer stops me from doing things, it would be great to have some friends who know what not being able to communicate can feel like.

It can be really rare to meet anyone else with a stammer/stutter but I know from experience how useful it can be. Having some support from people who understand, being able express your frustration, or just laugh at the mad situations having a stammer can get you into, would be a relief (for me – and I hope for others too).

We could meet in a pub, do some kind of activity – anything really, I’m open to ideas.
