EMPLOYMENT
1992-1993 Waiter at the Ferndale Hotel & Northumberland Hotel, Torquay.
Duties consisted of serving the customers, making sure that everything was correct and keeping the customers happy. This is where I learnt the basics of customer service.
1993-1995 Shop Assistant, I.D. Identity, Torquay.
My duties consisted of stock control and assisting the shop manager in selling the products of the store.
1995-1997 Temporary Positions at Kelly Services (Industrial), High Street in Exeter.
Warehouse and packing.
1997-1999 Banqueting Porter at the Grand Hotel in Brighton.
My role at the Grand consisted of setting up functions rooms and conferences. These covered numbers from 10 to 500 people ensuring that all of the necessary requirements were dealt with on time and efficiently.
1999-2003 Senior Supervisor Banqueting Porter at the Hilton Brighton Metropole.
As Senior Supervisor, I was in charge of the main team of 12 porters and sometimes 15 additional agency staff. This required setting up all of the conference and banqueting rooms of which the number of people ranged from 4 to 2000. I was in charge of preparing the staff rota and doing the stock takes for all of the conference and banqueting equipment. I was also responsible for turn arounds from conferences to dinners.
2003-2008 Supervisor Banqueting Porter for about a year and then promoted to Cellar Manager at the Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton.
After having started as the supervisory banqueting porter carrying out much the same role as I did at the Metropole, I was then given the opportunity to become the Cellar Manager. This role did not entail supervising any other staff but I was the head of this department. In this role every stock take I had showed no losses, in fact all of my stock takes were up which also helped the bars manager with reaching his respective targets. I was in charge of maintaining the cellar and all of the equipment, ensuring all drinks lines were cleaned on a regular basis so as to keep stock fresh and the quality high. In this role I was also the Fire Marshall for the Royal Albion hotel and went on numerous courses for this.
2008-2008 Bar Manager at the Suga Qube in Brighton.
When employed at the Suga Qube the staff taught me the basics in mixology and cocktails. I was also responsible for preparing the staff rotas, cashing up every night and making sure that the tills were balanced. I was also responsible for close down and making sure that the bar was secure. I was also responsible for liaising with the door staff and ensuring the safety and happiness of all customers and staff.
2009-present – Telephone Data Collection - Lexis Nexis
I am currently working in Croydon for this international company in their telephone research and data collection department. The main role of my job is to call clients and potential clients to obtain information from them for the company’s website and information that can be passed on. This job has built up my confidence in relationship forming skills and improved my telephone manner.
OTHER
I have a lot of experience and am keen to work hard and learn as much as possible. I am good at working within a team or alone and feel that I have a lot to offer my next employer and would like to be given the opportunity to do so and to prove myself.
