Brightons first soul choir to perform first ever Christmas Concert at The Old Market, Hove
Tickets on sale now to hear Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Earth Wind and Fire as you’ve never heard them before!
Souled Out is Brighton’s first community soul choir, founded recently by Brighton resident Neil Masey. Made up of 80 diverse members, the Souled Out choir will be performing their first ever Christmas Concert at The Old Market, Hove on Friday December 4, and tickets are on sale now.
The performance promises to be an evening full of uplifting soul and funk, with roots from gospel and rhythm and blues, catchy rhythms, hand claps, body moves and the call and response between the soloist and the chorus. You’ll be able to hear inspirational versions of some of the greatest soul music ever written including Stevie Wonder’s ‘As’, Michael Jackson’s ‘Don’t Stop till you get enough’, and ‘Fantasy’ by Earth, Wind and Fire.
Souled Out meets every Tuesday evening at St Luke’s Church, Queens Park Terrace to sing soul music from the 70s and 80s. Lead each week by renowned music director David Lavale – from London’s highly regarded ‘igospel’ group, the choir rehearse for 90 minutes with live musicians.
As Neil puts it “it’s going to be a big night; a polished and professional choir accompanied by a funky live band with DJ’s supporting us and an after party. Boy is Brighton ready for a soul choir”!
Tickets cost just £10 (£8 concessions) and can be purchased directly from Neil Masey, 07734 349476 or online at www.theoldmarket.co.uk.
