Hidden Homelessness documentary
I am currently making a documentary regarding hidden homelessness. The premise behind my film is to show that the public perception of
homelessness is often false and that it is an issue that can face anyone. As a result of unsatisfactory living conditions, low paying
jobs and low amounts of affordable housing many people who may be in employment find themselves homeless but are not recognised as such by
the government. These unsatisfactory conditions can lead to people losing the employment they have which further perpetuates the cycle of homelessness. I have been working with a number of housing organizations such as Threshold and CRI rough sleepers in Brighton as well as documenting the Emmaus network.
I am still searching for more people who find themselves in this situation and may want to talk to me or participate in my film. I understand confidentiality is of the utmost importance and that people may not have, or may be unwilling to give out any details, however I hope to be able to set up a way of putting a notice or press release within this network so that any interested parties might contact me. I think films such as mine are important for bringing into the publics notice issues of hidden homelessness so that more might be done to combat this problem. I hope anyone either effected by these issues or interested in doing something about them will be able to contact and help me in some way.
Thanks for your time and if you have any further inquiries please don't hesitate to contact me.
