Renault Master T35D Lwb Camper Van Conversion (£2,000)
I'm selling my muched loved RENAULT MASTER T35D LWB CAMPER VAN conversion. I bought it 3 years ago from a council run charity that transported community groups and disabled people so it's never been driven fast and has been reguarly serviced throughout it's exsistence. It had 13 seats in it but now it has 5. The two in the back have belts and can be easily removed if you need more space, as can the double bed planks to create a huge loading area at the back which is perfect if you ever need to transport large items. I spent 3 weeks converting this van into our summer house using reclaimed timber, some of which is 130 years old, it feels very homely. The windows in this van are huge which means when you wake up and throw the curtains open you really feel part of your environment which is great when you're parked up in a beautiful place. The engine, to my knowledge (although I'm not a mechanic) is mechanically sound and has never let us down, and has proved to be very reliable. I have done some work on it in the last year, a new sump to fix an oil leak, new brakes, new water pump and new hoses throughout the water system. Its MOT runs to April 09 and there's still a couple of months tax on her. The body work is good for her age, just a few surface spots of rust, the wheel arches mainly, I'll try and give them a rub down and a lick of hammerite before the auction ends. She has had a minor scrape down the drivers side which is there but barely noticable. As she used to be a disabled people carrier, there's air suspension at the back to allow the back to drop down to wheel in wheelchairs, this bleeds air over time so you have to make sure visually that it is fully pumped up before setting off, this requires pumping it up using a switch on the dash and takes only a few minutes. It also means that the back axle is lower than most vehicals which could cause problems in heavily rutted dirt roads, having said that, we've been to maybe 15 festivals in it and only had to get towed once, and that was out of the glastonbury quagmire last year.
There are 4 x 12v spot lights in the ceiling and a cd player with a line in for mp3 (cost over £100), 4 speakers and extra speaker terminals near the sliding door if you fancy running another couple of speakers outside when you're parked up. The lights run off a leisure battery (sorry not included but only £30) and the stereo can either run from the main or the leisure battery, i've put in a switch. The water bottles and gas are under the sink, the waste water runs into a separate jerry can. The hobs, oven and grill are great and very clean. Cupboard under the stove and one massive one that runs under the bed. Nice red carpet and velvet curtains.
The wingmirrors were vandalised last year so nolonger hold their position without the aid of duck tape, I looked into replacing them but it didn't seem worth it.
This van has a massive internal space which makes a great living area. We will be very sad to see her leave us but we've already bought a bigger horsebox to convert now as our family has expanded and we need more space.
